    Apple Avocado Smoothie

    This is a refreshing detox green smoothie.
    Perfect for breakfast!

    Ingredients:

    1 cup unsweetened almond milk
    4 cups spinach
    1 medium avocado, peeled, seeded
    2 medium apples (any variety), cored and quartered (chop even finer if you don’t have a high-powered blender)
    1 medium banana, diced and frozen
    2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (plus more to taste)
    1/2 teaspoon ground ginger or a 1/2-inch piece of fresh ginger (if you don’t have a high-powered blender, mince the ginger first). If you want a more subtle flavor, use less than 1/2 teaspoon of ginger—this smoothie is a bit spicy!
    Small handful of ice cubes
    Additional ingredients (optional): chia seeds, flax seeds, protein powder, almond butter (or other nut butter of your choice)


    Instructions:


    1. Place all ingredients in a high-powered blender in the order listed above.
    2. Blend until smooth. Taste and add more sweetener or seasoning to taste if needed. Serve immediately.
