Air-fried sweet potato wedges are a delicious and crispy appetizer or side dish that goes well with a variety of main courses.
Ingredients:
2 medium-sized (460 g) sweet potatoes, sliced
1 ½ tablespoons olive oil (or avocado oil)
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon ground paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt (plus more to taste)
Black pepper and chili powder (to taste)
Fresh parsley (for serving)
Directions:
1. First, preheat the air fryer to 190°C. Meanwhile, wash, dry, and peel the sweet potatoes, if desired.
2. Then cut each potato in half lengthwise. Place the flat side down on a cutting board and cut into 2-3 cm slices.
3. Optional step for crispier potato wedges: Soak the wedges in cold water for 10-15 minutes, then drain. Add 1 tablespoon cornstarch or potato starch (this will create a crispy crust).
4. Transfer the wedges to a large bowl, drizzle with oil and seasonings, and toss well to coat evenly.
5. Place wedges in a single layer in the deep fryer, leaving space between wedges. Do not overcrowd the pan – repeat in batches if necessary.
6. Bake for 15-18 minutes – until soft on the inside and slightly browned on the outside (flip halfway through). We recommend serving with a dipping sauce (such as SRIRACHA, BBQ, TZATZIKI, guacamole, etc.). Enjoy!
