This is an easy-to-make vegan “cheese” sauce (nut-free) that takes just 3 minutes to make!
Serve with pizza, nachos, pasta, burgers, toast, and more!
Ingredients:
¾ cup (180 ml) coconut milk, full-fat (or other plant-based milk, such as almond)
3 tablespoons (20 g) nutritional yeast flakes
2 tablespoons (15 g) tapioca flour
½ teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)
½ teaspoon onion powder (optional)
¼ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Pinch of smoked paprika (optional)
Instructions:
1. Place all ingredients in a saucepan and stir with a whisk. Once combined, turn on the heat and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
2. Heat over low to medium heat for about one minute (until the sauce becomes stretchy like cheese).
3. If the “cheese” sauce is too thick – simply add more coconut milk or any other plant-based milk (or water), up to 1 cup.
