Ramen is a noodle dish commonly used in Asian cuisine.
Ingredients:
100 g RAMEN noodles
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 cloves garlic (peeled and minced)
½ teaspoon freshly grated ginger or 1 teaspoon ginger paste
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
2-3 teaspoons hot chili garlic sauce (or SRIRACHA sauce)
¼ cup thinly sliced spring onions
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
chili flakes (optional - adds spice)
Directions:
1. Cook RAMEN noodles according to package directions (about 2-3 minutes).
2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and when hot, add the garlic and ginger. Fry for about a minute (until softened and fragrant).
3. Then stir in the brown sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar and hot chili garlic sauce or SRIRACHA sauce (start with 1 teaspoon of hot sauce and add more later - to taste). Fry for another 30 seconds.
4. Drain the pasta and add it to the pan as well. Mix well with a fork or kitchen tongs. Add another drizzle of sesame oil (add extra hot chili garlic sauce if you like).
5. Sprinkle the scallions and sesame seeds on top. For even more spiciness - add a little chili flakes. Serve the pasta hot.
