    Cabbage Steak

    You can serve the cabbage roast as a side dish (season with fresh lemon juice or fresh herbs, grated parmesan, toasted chopped nuts, tahini sauce).
    You can also serve this roast as a main dish with grains (such as bulgur), crumbled feta cheese, tahini sauce, parsley, etc.

    Ingredients


    1 cabbage
    2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
    ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    ¼ teaspoon sea salt
    Freshly ground black pepper
    Lemon slices

    Directions:


    1. Preheat the oven to 220°C and line a baking sheet with baking paper.
    2. Place the cabbage upright on a cutting board and cut vertically into “steaks” about 3 cm thick. Arrange in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
    3. In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Brush half of the mixture over the cabbage rolls. Then carefully flip the rolls over and brush with the mixture as well.
    4. Bake in the oven for 30–40 minutes, or until the cabbage rolls are browned and tender in the center. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
    5. Serve as a side dish with lemon wedges (squeeze in the juice) or as a main course with your choice of side dishes.
