    Peanut Butter and Maple Syrup Sauce

    This is a two-ingredient “caramel” sauce without sugar!
    Add this sauce to desserts, sweet snacks or breakfasts (waffles, pancakes, etc.).


    Ingredients:


    Thick sauce:


    ¼ cup (60 g) smooth natural peanut butter (no additives)
    70 ml pure maple syrup
    a small pinch of salt (if you want a salty sauce)

    Thinner sauce:


    ¼ cup (60 g) smooth natural peanut butter
    125 ml pure maple syrup
    a small pinch of salt (if you want a salty sauce)


    Instructions:


    1. In a small bowl, whisk together the peanut butter and maple syrup until the sauce has a caramel-like texture.
    2. You will need patience – the more you stir, the thicker the sauce will be.
    3. Gradually add more maple syrup if you want the sauce to be thinner. Add salt if you want a salty sauce.
    Yield: ½ cup sauce
