    Homemade macadamia butter

Macadamia nut butter has a great flavor and can be combined with fruit, toast, smoothies, cakes, cookies and other desserts.

    Ingredients:

4 cups (500 g) raw, whole macadamia nuts
    2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
    1/2 teaspoon fine salt

    Directions:

    1. It is recommended to use 4 cups of macadamia nuts, as most food processors or blenders require a larger volume to grind well.
    2. Preheat the oven to 180 C. Line a large baking tray with a silicone mat or baking paper. Toast the macadamia nuts for only 3-5 minutes. Macadamia nuts should only be very lightly browned and slightly shiny due to the natural oils released in the heat. Macadamia nuts are already very soft, so it's important not to over-roast them.
    3. Immediately remove the roasted nuts from the oven and let cool for 3-5 minutes.
    4. Place the nuts in a food processor and grind them at maximum speed for 5 minutes. However, if the food processor is not powerful, it may take longer than 5 minutes. The nut butter is ready when it is completely smooth and runny.
    5. Add vanilla and beat for another 30 seconds. Add salt and stir with a spoon.
    6. Store prepared macadamia butter in a clean glass container for up to 6 months.
