Description

Organic coconut drink (coconut milk) is a great vegan alternative to regular milk. Suitable for Asian cuisine dishes, cakes, ice cream, cocktails, sauces, stews.
Making coconut drink:
Extraction: The flesh of mature coconuts is grated or crushed into coconut flakes. The resulting flakes are mixed with water to form a thick mixture. The blended mixture is strained through cheesecloth or a fine sieve to separate the liquid from the coconut flesh. The resulting liquid is coconut drink.
The color and thick consistency of coconut drink are determined by the high oil content, most of which is saturated fat.
Due to its pleasant taste and creaminess, coconut drink has become a universal ingredient used in both savory and sweet dishes, from curries and soups to ice cream and cocktails.
It's important to note that coconut drink is different from coconut water, which is a clear liquid found inside young, green coconuts and is often consumed as a refreshing drink.

Coconut milk is a versatile ingredient commonly used in a variety of cuisines, adding creaminess, flavor, and a tropical richness to dishes. Here are some ways you can use coconut milk in your cooking:
Curries and Stews: Coconut milk is a staple ingredient in many Asian and Caribbean curries and stews. It provides a rich, creamy base to dishes. Simply add coconut milk to your existing stew, season with spices, and let the flavors and aromas unfold.
Soups: Coconut milk can be used to make creamy soups, such as tomato coconut soup, pumpkin coconut soup, or Thai-inspired coconut chicken soup.
Smoothies: Add coconut milk to fruit or green smoothies. This will give your drinks a nice tropical flavor and creamy texture.
Rice and grains: You can use coconut milk instead of water to cook rice, quinoa, or other grains. It will add a subtle coconut flavor and improve the overall nutritional value of the dish.
Granola and oatmeal: Coconut milk is a great alternative to breakfast granola, porridge, or cereal. Just pour it in and enjoy a nutritious vegan breakfast.
Desserts: Coconut milk is the basis for many dessert recipes. You can make coconut milk-based ice cream, pudding, panna cotta, or even make dairy-free whipped cream from it.
Baked goods: Coconut milk is great for using in various baked goods as an alternative to regular milk. Use it to bake muffins, pancakes, and cakes. Coconut milk will add moisture to such baked goods, as well as a pleasant exotic coconut flavor and aroma.
Smoothie bowls: You can use coconut milk as a base for smoothie bowls. It is flavored with fruits, nuts and seeds.
Sauces and dressings: Coconut milk can be used to make creamy sauces and dressings for salads or pasta dishes. For a simple sauce, mix coconut milk with lime juice, a little sweetener and herbs.
Cocktails: Coconut milk is often used in tropical cocktails such as piña coladas and coconut margaritas.
Coffee and tea: Coconut milk is a great way to add flavor to coffee or tea. Simply add a splash of this drink and enjoy a creamy and aromatic drink.
When using coconut milk, remember that it tends to separate in the can - the creamy part rises to the top, and the watery part settles to the bottom. Therefore, shake the can well before opening to ensure a uniform texture and taste.
There are also two main types of coconut milk: canned and carton-packaged. Coconut drink from cans is thicker and richer, while in cartons it is often thinner and more suitable for direct consumption, for example, pouring into coffee, breakfast cereals, etc. Meanwhile, coconut drink from cans is more suitable for making baked goods, desserts, smoothies or solid dishes.
