Almond flour is a type of flour made from ground almonds. It is a popular alternative to traditional wheat flour for people who promote a gluten-free or low-carb diet. To make almond flour, blanched almonds (almonds with skin removed) are finely ground to a fine powder. The resulting flour is pale in color and has a slightly sweet, nutty flavor.

Almond flour is used in a variety of culinary applications, including baking and cooking. The flour can be used to make gluten-free baked goods, such as almond flour bread, muffins, pancakes and cookies. They are also often used as a meat and vegetable coating in place of breadcrumbs recipes.

One of the benefits of almond flour is that it's naturally high in healthy fats, protein and fiber, which can make baked goods moist and tender. However, this flour cannot always be used as a substitute for wheat flour in recipes because it lacks the gluten that gives traditional flour its structure and elasticity. As a result, recipes may need to be adjusted when using almond flour to achieve the desired texture.

Almond flour is a versatile ingredient and a popular choice for those looking for gluten-free or low-carb alternatives in cooking and baking.
